Our Photographer

You blink and before you know it, not only your wedding day will have whizzed by, but you will be happily celebrating your 10th wedding anniversary…

A recent movie focused on the concept of ‘Nostalgia in Photography’ and struck a powerful chord with our founder and Principal Photographer Mel Chamberlain; and in particular how her unique combination of depth of caring & passion for photography could create priceless memories for her clients.

Nostalgia in Greek literally means ‘the pain from an old wound‘. A twinge in your heart far more powerful than memory alone.

Mel loves to capture those unmissable details at Weddings… the stunning bouquets, the dress, his expression as she appears at the end of aisle; however the thing she focuses on most is capturing the emotion surrounding the day. Those fleetingly rare moments that would be gone forever had she not been waiting & watching for that precise time to press the shutter...

Mels’ work was recognised at the 2017 Small Business Development Conference in Townsville. She won the BizCover National NEIS Small Business Change Award from the Australian Government; recognising her dedication, quality of work, innovative approach and exceptional customer service (images below).

Little Studio was also a finalist and Top 10 Winner in the August 2018 Annual Brides Choice Awards for Wedding Photography across Bayside & The Mornington Peninsula. These awards celebrate and recognise the pinnacle of professionalism and the surpassing of all expectations of their Brides and Grooms. Wedding suppliers that couples believed went beyond the call of duty, professionalism, value for money, excellent customer service and exceeded their expectations. Mel has over 50 five star reviews online (via google, facebook and Service Seeking) from prior Little Studio couples – with no reviews below this top level. Ask Mel for details.

“It is true that a picture paints a thousand words, and it is equally true that Mel’s photos paint a thousand emotions.” Dianna & David, 2016
